NASA AIS AIS AIS Engine - Class A & B AIS Receiver | 4Boats

The NASA AIS Engine receives AIS transmissions on channels A and B, alternating between them by default for continuous monitoring.

• Receives Class A and Class B AIS transmissions
• Operating frequencies: 162.025 and 161.975 MHz
• Output: NMEA 0183 HS (38,400 baud); relays all AIS VDM messages (ITU‑1371)
• Antenna input: 50 ohm BNC
• Data connector: 9-pin D-type; host must accept NMEA 0183 HS input
• Supply voltage: 10 to 16 V DC
• Dimensions: 11.5 × 10.0 × 3.0 cm (4.5 × 3.9 × 1.2 in); mounting via two moulded flanges
• NMEA RMC from GPS and various receiver parameters available

Suitable for plotters or PC software with an AIS input—check compatibility with your supplier. If your PC lacks a spare 9-pin serial port, a low-cost serial-to-USB converter is available as an optional extra.
