NASA Clipper Tactical Wind System delivers real‑time apparent and true wind data in NMEA 0183 MWV format for tactical sailing and instrument displays.

  • NMEA 0183 output — MWV sentence, 4800 baud; update rate 10 Hz (10 updates/s).
  • Mast transmitter supplied with 20 metre (65.6 ft) cable.
  • Wind sensor range 0–51.4 m/s (0–99.9 kts); display wind speed 0–50.9 m/s (0–99 kts).
  • Wind direction 0–360°; display angle represented by 60 segments.
  • Supply nominal 12 V; mast sensor current
  • Display case 110 × 110 mm (4.33 × 4.33 in); 9 backlight levels; two pointer styles.
  • True wind requires boat speed input: VHW (log) or RMC (GPS).
  • Compatible with any MWV‑capable instrument or chartplotter for direct connection.
